February is here
(Sam Loveridge)
I don't know about you but I genuinely don't know where January went. Shocked to say that February is already here and we're about to be wrecked by having too much awesome new games, TV shows and movies to fit into a single weekend.

But, it's starting out calm. This week has been devoid of big game launches beyond the arrival of chill indie road trip game Season: A Letter to the Future and the mad strategy game Inkulinati (more on that in a minute). Over in the entertainment space, you've got Puss in Boots and The Whale coming to UK cinemas, along with M. Night Shyamalan's Knock at the Door on Netflix. Quite a delightfully mixed bag there.

I, for one, am super excited about all the cool stuff dropping this month, but let's start with what you can do right now.

What to Read
We talk to Remedy about finally writing Alan Wake 2 into reality
(Remedy)
Rounding out our Big in 2023 event was an exclusive interview with Remedy Games ahead of the release of Alan Wake 2 later this year. I cannot wait to dive back into Bright Falls and all its weirdness when it does arrive, and based on the little teases from Remedy on the survival horror title we're going to be in for an absolute treat.

What to Play
Inkulinati is a strategy game that features devouring snails and tooting donkey bards
(Yaza Games)
Calling all strategy fans with a Game Pass subscription! Inkulinati is a Medieval-themed strategy game with a Monty Python sense of humor. Think snails called Sir Andrew taking on a farting donkey playing a lute, all playing out on the pages of a Medieval manuscript. It sounds weird, but it's brilliant, and also pretty darn intense.

What to Watch
Darren Aronofsky on plucking Brendan Fraser "from the wilderness" and The Whale's surprise reception
(A24)
The entire internet (and the GamesRadar team) is obsessed with the lovely Brendan Fraser and rightfully so. He's back on the big screen at last with The Whale, and our own Fay Watson has been chatting with director Darren Aronofsky about the movie. It's another great interview this week from the GamesRadar+ team and well worth a read if you're a Brendan stan like we are.

Good News, Gamers
The Day Before finally shows off 10 minutes of disappointing gameplay
(Fntastic)
Okay, so maybe not "good news", gamers - but at least it's some news. I don't know if you've been following the Capital D Drama around hotly anticipated MMO The Day Before, but it's been a whole load of weirdness from trademark issues to game delays all the way through debates as to whether the game is actually real or not. But, this week we finally got some gameplay footage - 10 minutes in fact - showcasing a little of what to expect from the title. But, it was pretty... boring? Little pomp and ceremony, more just watching two people run about fiddling with guns and eventually taking down some zombies. I'm not sure what it's done to the hype at this stage, but this is a rabbit hole well worth tumbling down.
