'True Detective' and Hollywood's mystery binge

A mystery is an armature on which to hang a bunch of disparate characters without the necessity of character development, and four are coming with "True Detective: Night Country" leading the pack.

Mystery TV series abound with "True Detective: Night Country," :Monsieur Spade," "Death and Other Details" and "Criminal Record" all premiering in a span of a week — that's a whole lotta murder.
