Under Trump pressure, UC says student governments are banned from boycotting Israel The University of California says student governments and all other "university entities" are banned from boycotting Israel, a direct response to a Trump administration directive that institutions engaging in such boycotts would not qualify for federal medical and science research grants. In a letter to chancellors Wednesday, UC President Michael Drake told campus leaders that such boycotts based on associations "with a particular country" violate university policy. Read more
