Trump administration offers undocumented immigrants $1,000 to leave the country

The Trump administration announced a plan Monday to try to ramp up the number of deportations: paying undocumented immigrants $1,000 if they return to their home country voluntarily.

Any immigrant who used the CBP Home App to inform the government that they plan to return home, the department said, would receive a $1,000 payment after the government had confirmed their return.

Skechers to go private in $9.4-billion deal

Skechers, the Manhattan Beach footwear brand, is going private in a $9.4-billion deal. New York investment firm 3G Capital will acquire the company in a transaction that is expected to close in the third quarter, the company said Monday.

The sale announcement follows a decision by Skechers to not offer full-year guidance in April, citing "macroeconomic uncertainty stemming from global trade policies."
