Trump administration says it will exclude some electronics from 'reciprocal' tariffs The Trump administration said it would exclude electronics such as smartphones and laptops from "reciprocal" tariffs late Friday, a move that could help keep the prices down for popular consumer electronics that aren't usually made in the U.S. U.S. Customs and Border Protection said items such as smartphones, laptops, hard drives, flat-panel monitors, some chips and machines that use semiconductors would qualify for the exemption.
